Welcome to Talklo.
We’re building room-based social spaces for live conversations, hosted communities, and better discussion online.
This room is where we’ll share product updates, ideas, experiments, and what’s coming next.
What makes a room worth coming back to for you?
There’s quite a bit to cover, so I’ll start here: livestreaming is an optional feature, not a requirement. Users can turn Live Video off anytime in room settings and continue using the room without going live.
Starting a livestream is simple: just click Start livestream when you’re ready to go live. When you want to finish, click End livestream to stop the stream.
When a livestream ends, the recording is saved as an episode in the room, where past livestreams can be replayed anytime from the Episodes page. In public rooms, any signed-in user can watch. In request-only and invite-only rooms, only joined users can view episodes.
Starting a livestream creates a dedicated Live chat for the duration of that session. After the livestream ends, the room returns to its persistent Room chat.
Rooms support three visibility types:
Public — anyone can discover the room and watch livestreams. Only joined members can participate in chat.
Private / Request — users must request access. Only joined members can watch livestreams and participate.
Hidden / Invite — are not searchable and do not appear in Explorer. Only invited members can join, watch livestreams, and participate.
I’m really excited about this one.
New feature: Live audio
Hosts can start a live audio session and invite up to 4 speakers to join the audio panel while the room listens and participates through Live chat.
When the session ends, the recording is automatically saved as an Episode that can be replayed later.
Own your space.
Here’s what a Live audio session looks like in a room.
Hosts can invite up to 4 speakers to join the audio panel while the room listens live and participates through chat.
After a live session ends, it becomes an Episode.
Both live video and live audio sessions are automatically saved and appear in the Episodes page so they can be watched or listened to later.
Inside your room, go to Manage room and open Invite links, set how many users to accept and expiry date, and click Create Invite. It will generate an invite code, copy the link and send it to your friends you want to join your room. Hidden rooms can only be reachable and joined with that link.
