Privacy Policy
This policy explains what URoom collects, how we use it, what may be visible to others, and the choices you have when using the service.
Effective date: May 26, 2026
1. Information we collect
We collect account information such as your email address, password hash, display name, avatar, country, email verification status, and authentication session details.
We collect content and activity you create on URoom, including rooms, room names, descriptions, invites, membership requests, posts, comments, reactions, votes, uploaded videos, thumbnails, video moments, and notifications.
We also collect technical information needed to run and protect URoom, such as browser and device details, request metadata, rate-limit events, logs, cookies, and similar session or security data.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and manage accounts, authenticate users, verify email addresses, operate rooms, process uploads, stream videos, deliver notifications, support comments and chat-like features, and provide the core URoom experience.
We use information to secure URoom, prevent spam and abuse, enforce product rules, debug issues, measure reliability, improve features, and communicate with you about your account or the service.
We may use public room and video information to help people discover content on URoom and to generate previews, metadata, feeds, and search-engine listings where appropriate.
3. What is visible to others
Your display name, avatar, room memberships, posts, comments, reactions, votes, videos, video moments, and room activity may be visible to other users depending on the room visibility and feature context.
Public rooms and public videos may be visible outside URoom, including through shared links, embeds, previews, search engines, and social previews. Private or invite-based spaces are intended to limit access, but users with access may still copy, download, screenshot, or share content outside URoom.
Your email address is used for account access and service messages. It is not shown as a public profile field in the product.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
URoom uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, preferences, and service reliability.
Some third-party providers that support URoom may also set or rely on cookies, tokens, logs, or similar technologies when their services are used.
5. Service providers
We use service providers to operate URoom, including providers for hosting, databases, email delivery, realtime messaging, video streaming, media storage, analytics or diagnostics, and security.
These providers may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide their services to URoom, comply with law, protect their systems, or meet their own legal obligations.
6. Sharing information
We share information when you choose to make it visible through URoom features, such as publishing a video, posting in a room, commenting, reacting, sharing a video to a room, or inviting members.
We may share information with service providers, when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of URoom or others, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide URoom, maintain accounts and rooms, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, preserve security, and maintain backups.
Some content may remain after you stop using URoom if it is part of a room, conversation, video archive, moderation record, backup, or other operational record.
8. Your choices
You can update profile information in your account settings where those controls are available. You can also choose what rooms you create, join, post in, comment on, or upload videos to.
You may request help with account, privacy, or deletion questions by contacting us at support@uroom.co. We may need to verify your identity before acting on some requests.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect URoom and the information we process. No online service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
You can help protect your account by using a strong password, keeping your email account secure, and signing out on shared devices.
10. Children
URoom is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use URoom only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to URoom, contact us at support@uroom.co so we can review and take appropriate action.
11. International use
URoom may be operated and supported using providers in different countries. By using URoom, you understand that information may be processed in countries other than where you live.
Where required, we take steps designed to support appropriate safeguards for international processing.
12. Updates to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as URoom changes or as legal, operational, or security needs evolve.
When updates are material, we will take reasonable steps to let users know, such as updating the effective date or providing notice in the product.
